The New Wine Country

As I'm pretty sure everyone who reads this knows by now, Amy and I are moving up to Hillsboro, OR soon. Well, about a month ago we went up there to go house hunting. We tried and failed to get a house, someone made a better offer on the one we wanted, but it wasn't all bad news. We made our first expedition into northern Oregon's wine country. It's a very different sort of place, but still very nice. The wineries seem more spread out, and the country is far more rurual than even Dry Creek Valley, dotted here and there with cow fields, but it is suprisingly only about 30 minutes from the area we're looking to buy into. It's Pinot Noir country for those unfamiliar with the region, and it's very good at that. It may not be Zinfandel land, but we'll adjust :)
