Butler Gets a Trim
Many of you know Butler, our Jade and Marble Queen Pothos. For the last 6 years Butler has grown to an epic size along our ceiling, giving the impression that one is living in a jungle. Well, due to the length of his arms, Butler had dropped many of his early leaves resulting in bare vines. In addition to this, the rate of Nintendo Wii related accidents had been climbing for a while. What does this all mean you ask? It was time for Butler to get a trim. As you can see below, we took a lot off the top. The tape measure is 25' long, and his two longest branches were easily twice that length. Yep, after years of speculation, we can officially say that Butler's longest arms were approximately 50' long. Not bad for a Home Depot house plant. Butler is doing well still and currently lives on one of our speakers in the living room, but he's much more manageable now, and playing Wii tennis just got a whole lot safer.

More Kiting
Giant Fish

I'm moving up into the big leagues. This is my first giant inflatible kite, I just got him for graduation. By Berkeley standards, home of the Octopile (see my Berkeley Kite fest panorama), this guy is still on the smaller side, but at 22.5' long he'd be the biggest kite in the sky at most fields :)

Graduation
Graduation
(click for graduation pics)

I posted the pictures from the picnic before graduation a while ago, but now here are actual pictures from graduation! The ones from inside are a bit blurry because of the long exposures since the flash would be useless. That's my fault for not showing Amy how to set the shutter speed...oops. Oh well. The small professional pics are from Bob Knight Photo, the folks hired to shoot the event. To get a full size image would cost $75, so I just borrowed the small ones you'll see. Enjoy!
